About the event
3rd Sunday Family Funday is a special monthly event for parents/ caregivers of children with special needs and their families to come together for a time of respite with others who understand their struggles and triumphs. R[4] also offers an incredibly fun program for the kids (both special needs and siblings) with trained volunteer buddies who make that time so stress free and exciting that no one ever wants to leave. These retreats are designed with the whole family in mind and offer a little something for everyone.
We offer on-site Respite Time for the parents/caregivers at each event. What does that look like? Respite time is what every parent/caregiver longs for. A time to breathe. A time to relax. A time to enjoy the company of others who “get it.’ But it’s also a time of learning, networking and connecting with others through breakout sessions, group discussions, one-on-one chats with counselors and the opportunity to make life-long friends in a relaxed and safe setting.
What do the kids do? Kids of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy all kinds of camp-y things! Hiking, field games, swimming, volleyball, board games, arts and crafts, science experiments and just hanging out. Trust us when we say that the kids absolutely love it and will want to come back every month!
