R STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible, consisting of sixty-six (66) books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible was given by supernatural revelation. The scriptures are accurate, infallible, and authoritative in all things regarding faith and practice, and in their record of scientific and historical facts. The original manuscripts are without error or defect of any kind.
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
We believe that by an act of His divine will and power, God spoke the heavens and the earth and every living thing into existence.
We believe that Adam and Eve were real, historical persons created directly by God, as male and female, in His own image and gave them dominion over His creation. In so doing he established the one man, one woman relationship of marriage as the only God-ordained and righteous basis of family formation and as the foundation of human society.
We believe that when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were alienated from Him and the perfect image of God was warped, marred, stained and corrupted in all its aspects. Consequently, all people are born sinners with warped wills, twisted thoughts, and evil emotions. By their own willful choices, all people fall short of their own personal standards and of God’s moral law. As a result, every person is separated from God and needs redemption and regeneration through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was supernaturally conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, as foretold by the prophets and as recorded in the Gospels. According to the eternal Divine plan, He laid aside his glory in heaven and came to live among us as a servant. He went about doing good, preaching the Kingdom of God, healing the sick and casting out evil spirits. He showed himself by many signs and wonders to be the promised Messiah. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead. He showed Himself alive to His disciples, physically interacting with them over a period of forty days. He ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of God the Father, he has a position far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion, and every name that is named. He is now our High Priest and Advocate at the Father’s right hand.
Salvation by Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone
We believe that salvation is a gift given by the grace and mercy of God. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Right standing with God cannot be earned by being good or by doing good works or acts of penance. To those who receive Christ, God grants forgiveness of sins, the gift of eternal life and ultimately the resurrection of the body to live forever in the new heavens and the new earth. Those who reject Jesus Christ and His provision of salvation and forgiveness for sin are doomed to eternal separation from God and consignment to hell. The evidence of saving faith is a transformed life, lived in obedience to God’s will. and the fruit of good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, one member of the Holy Trinity, and He possesses all the divine attributes. He is God. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit in this current age is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; to convict men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; to impart spiritual life the believing sinner as the agent of the new birth; to indwell every believer to guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
Our Position In Christ
We believe that believers live in union with Christ and we find our true identity in Him. We are crucified, buried, made alive, raised up and seated with Christ at the right hand of the Father. As new creations in Christ Jesus, our identities are not found in outward appearances, performance, looks, intelligence, ability or wealth but in the fact that each of us is a child of the Most High God. We believe that as we submit in obedience to the Holy Spirit and to God’s Word, we can experience Christ directly and intimately without the intervention of human priests or required rituals. As we commune with Christ daily as Lord, Savior, Teacher, and Friend, our lives are transformed into His likeness and we find our unique place of blessing and service in His kingdom.
We believe that in this union with Christ and under the power of His blood we have authority over all the forces of evil that come against us and can defeat them in His name. His delegated power enables us to overcome the allure of world system, the downward pull of our own fallen natures, and the attacks of Satan and his evil hosts. As we renew our minds through the Word of God we are overcomers.
